In the upper right corner of Africa, there is a country called Egypt. Arabic is the official language and is much much different from English. Marhaba for example, is Hello in Arabic. On the east side of Egypt, the is a river (in one part) is 7.5 km wide. The river running through the country is called the Nile and many know that many parts of the river contain crocodiles. Along with the Nile, Egypt has the great pyramids, one of the only surviving wonders of the world. The pyramids are 455 feet tall which is 78 times taller than the average man. In front of the pyramids, there is another great sight seeing statue; The Sphinx. The Sphinx is a statue of a hybrid with a lion’s body and a man’s head. It is about 65 feet tall and almost 400 feet smaller than the monstrous pyramids.
