Summary- The Lost Hero is the first book in a great series. However, it doesn’t have as much meaning until you read the first series that Rick Riordan wrote, but that’s beside the point. It is about three demigods, Leo, Piper, and Jason. Jason is a son of the Roman god Jupiter, but he doesn’t know that. He woke up on a school bus with no memory, holding hands with a girl who he had never met until that moment. That girl happened to be Piper, a daughter of the Greek goddess Aphrodite. She and Leo (son of the Greek god Hepheastus) were dubbed as ‘bad kids’ early, like most demigods. They go on a quest to save Hera and meet their new enemy, which I won’t spoil for you (FYI, I won’t because I want you to read the book!).

Likes- The Lost Hero starts with the suspense right away. You don’t know who the heck Jason, Piper, and Leo are, but they sound like awesome demigods right from the start. After that, you learn that Percy Jackson dissapeared and if you’ve read the previous series, then you’re hooked right away. If not, you’re hooked when a person passes out and Leo learns that there’s a metal dragon in the woods. The book switches perspectives every chapter so that you can know what each character is thinking. That way, you can know the experiences of each character and there aren’t any chapters where all the characters catch up on each other’s experiences just for the reader’s benefit.

Dislikes- The only dislike that I have for this book is that it leaves you hanging a little. Well, a lot. You sort of know where Percy is, but not really. I mean, yeah, the whole book is wrapped up pretty nice and neat, but it leaves you wanting to know what happens afterward, but that’s what the next book is for, right? And the book after that, too, but I’m getting ahead of myself.
