Most people have never noticed the two doors stacked atop each other heading towards the big gym, but if you have, it will really make you think as to why they are there. The doors are suspicious looking as the top door is older than the bottom door and they both remain locked at most times.

When the office was asked about the doors, none of them knew about them or had seen the double doors. Many teachers also did not know what they were. Only one of custodians knew what the double doors were and inside the double doors was simply a supplies closet.

But why are there two doors? Well, the two doors were probably meant for storing props for the nearby auditorium for different plays and musicals that went on through the many years the Smiley Campus has been used. “It also might have been used for storing tall ladders,” a custodian states.

Why is the top door older than the bottom door? A McAuliffe staff member states, “the top door is older because the bottom door was broken with so much use of the school and in and out of the door for supplies such as cleaning supplies and props for plays and musicals.”

In summary, the double doors are still being questioned. This school is definitely old and full of mysteries scattered throughout.
